Terms of Employment
I hereby represent that the information provided by me is complete, true and correct, to the best of my knowledge. I understand that any incomplete, incorrect or false information provided by me may disqualify me from employment and will be grounds for termination for just cause if I am employed at the sole discretion of 24-7 Human Resource Solutions (24-7 HRS).
I consent to the submission of my resume and personal information by 24-7 HRS to organizations offering temporary or permanent placements without my knowledge and as deemed appropriate by 24-7 HRS in its exclusive discretion.
I understand that I do not become an employee of 24-7 HRS just because I have completed and submitted this application. 24-7 HRS will decide whether to make a written Offer of Employment to me following my review of this application and an assessment of 24-7 HRS’s needs. 24-7 HRS is under no obligation whatsoever to offer me employment and will not assign work to me until I accept a written Offer of Employment.
I hereby authorize 24-7 HRS to contact the persons or organizations listed on my application form for purposes of obtaining validation of experience, qualifications and employment references, including information in my personal file. These persons are authorized to disclose such information.
Assignment employees are 24-7 HRS’s most valuable assets. These health and safety protocols are designed to promote and maintain a safe workplace environment for our assignment employees as well as our permanent employees.
1. All assignment employees shall acquaint themselves with a new client’s site immediately upon arrival with their emergency procedures, eye wash station and first aid box location.
2. All assignment employees shall conduct themselves in a safe manner and shall comply with all client site rules, policies and procedures. Any hazards or unsafe conditions must be reported immediately to his/her on-site supervisor and 24-7 HRS. If any issues or concerns should arise between you and the client, these matters should be brought to the attention of 24-7 HRS immediately.
3. No assignment employee shall operate any machinery or equipment, including lift devices or other material handling equipment, without proper authorization from 24-7 HRS.
4. All assignment employees will evaluate the hazards of each assignment prior to the commencement of any assignments.
5. All assignment employees are responsible for keeping the area clean and free of debris. Assignment employees must remove any objects or debris that may cause accidents or injuries. Tools must be carefully handled and stored so that they cannot cause accidents.
6. All accidents or injuries must be reported immediately to the on-site supervisor and to 24-7 HRS. In the event of a lost-time injury, refer to the Early and Safe Return to Work Policy.
7. The 24-7 HRS Early and Safe Return to Work Program assists injured workers in their return to gain full employment as soon as medically authorized. The assignment employee is expected to report to 24-7 HRS prepared to work within their medical restrictions. If the assignment employee seeks medical attention, a Functional Abilities Form shall be filled out by the employee’s doctor and returned to 24-7 HRS.
8. Safety guards and devices are installed for the protection of all workers and are to be adjusted or removed only upon authorization from a client supervisor. At no time is an assignment employee allowed to work on a machine where the guard has been removed. If asked to do so by a supervisor, this shall be reported to 24-7 HRS immediately. Machine guards are never to be removed from a running piece of machinery, equipment or tool under any circumstances.
9. All safety items, including personal protective equipment, whether supplied by 24-7 HRS, the client or the employee as a condition of employment for designated jobs or areas must be worn at all times during work hours. Safety shoes shall be CSA approved. The client shall approve all safety equipment worn by assignment employees.
10. No assignment employee shall wear any articles of clothing, including gloves, jewelry or hair in such a way that presents a risk of injury while working around machinery.
11. All assignment employees with long hair must wear approved hair coverings and/or tie hair into a ponytail at all times. The decision as to who wears hair coverings shall be at the discretion of the client. All assignment employees shall adhere to any dress codes required by 24-7 HRS and/or the client.
12. No assignment employee shall engage in any type of boisterous conduct such as running, horseplay, misuse of company equipment or riding as a passenger on a lift truck.
13. When entering or leaving a client premises in a personal vehicle, the posted speed limits shall not be exceeded. Where no speed limits are posted, 20km per hour shall be understood to be the maximum.
14. You must not report for work under the influence of alcohol or drugs or have alcohol on your breath or consume any drugs or alcohol beverages while on duty.
15. Communication is the key to working at 24-7 HRS. You must call our office to keep up to date on possible assignments and current information.
16. You have the right to refuse work that you consider to be unsafe.
17. If an accident occurs outside of normal working hours and Medical Attention is sought, 24-7 HRS must be advised on the next business day.
18. 24-7 HRS reserves the right to refuse employment in certain positions where restrictions are stated in a doctor’s certificate.
19. An administration fee will be deducted from your pay cheque for any cheques that need to be re-issued.
I have read and understand the above 24-7 HRS policies. My questions have been answered and I understand that I can continue to ask any other health and safety related questions at any time.
I understand that I have access to the 24-7 HRS Health and Safety Program Manual to review the policies and procedures at any time.
I understand that 24-7 HRS has made available and will continue to make the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations available to me at any time.
I understand that any violation of these Health and Safety Protocols could result in immediate termination with cause and without notice.
